Ron Howden, Head Coach and Technical Director

Now in his fourth year with Team Hardwood, Ron has been appointed Head Coach and Technical Director for Team Hardwood programs. As a former high school, club, provincial and national athlete, Ron has participated in OFSSA, Provincial and National Championships, World Juniors and the 1988 Olympics. With his strong commitment to both athlete and coach development, Ron will serve as primary coach for athletes in Hardwood’s National and Provincial programs, and will provide overall direction to the coaching team.





Jack Sasseville, Founding Head Coach 


Jack is an NCCP Level V coach who has been coaching for over 30 years, including 13 years with the National Ski Team.  He has coached national and international champions of all ages.  His skiers have won over 300 medials at Canadian Championships.







Bella Howden

In her first year of coaching Bella has spend the last 4 years training and racing and the last summer learning what it takes to be a coach. Bella brings enthusiasm and a love of working with young people to the role which will be infectious








Marla Bailey: Coach for Junior Programme .  Marla is an elite athlete who has also coached running after a NCAA career and we are looking forward to her bringing her skills and talents to us on the snow.

Tristan Markov: Assistant Coach, Tristan is a former Team Hardwood athlete and is currently studying Kinesiology while returning to help the team.

Athlete Coaches: Senior athletes are recruited to assist coaching and direction of the programme.  These athletes offer a high level of competency in the technical and performance aspects of the sport. They further serve as mature role models for younger skiers who are typically enthusiastic to connect with these successful members of Team Hardwood.
